Privacy Policy

We believe your data is your business. Discover how we protect your information and why your essays are safe with us.

Last Updated: March 3, 2026

At Decopy AI (“we”, “our”, or “us”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to ensure your data remains secure when you use our website and services.

The Zero Data Retention Guarantee

The text you paste into the Decopy AI detector is never saved to our databases. It is processed in temporary computer memory (RAM) strictly to perform the AI detection analysis. Once the analysis is complete and the result is displayed on your screen, your text is permanently and irretrievably deleted from our servers. We do not use your essays to train AI models, and we do not share them with third parties, universities, or plagiarism databases like Turnitin.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

To provide maximum peace of mind to our users, we have designed our system to collect as little information as possible. We do not collect or store:

  • The content of the essays, articles, or text you submit for analysis.
  • Names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless you explicitly email our support team).
  • Payment information (Decopy AI is currently a free tool).

2. Information We Do Collect

When you visit and interact with our website, we automatically collect certain technical information to ensure the site functions correctly and to prevent abuse. This includes:

  • Usage Data: Anonymous statistics on how you interact with our website (e.g., pages visited, time spent on the site, button clicks).
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and basic device metrics.
  • IP Addresses: We temporarily process IP addresses solely for rate-limiting purposes (to prevent bots from overwhelming our servers) and to protect against malicious activities. These logs are routinely purged.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use standard cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve user experience and analyze website traffic. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device. We use:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the basic functioning of the website (e.g., remembering your session to prevent repetitive rate-limiting).
  • Analytics Cookies: Provided by trusted third-party services (such as Google Analytics) to help us understand how users interact with our site. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept essential cookies, some parts of our service may not function properly.

4. Third-Party Services

To provide our detection analysis, we may securely transmit your text to our proprietary backend infrastructure or trusted third-party AI processing partners. We have strict data processing agreements in place ensuring that any third-party infrastructure used for processing:

  • Encrypts the data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols.
  • Does not retain the text after the processing request is completed.
  • Is explicitly prohibited from using your text to train, fine-tune, or improve their own machine learning models.

5. Data Security

We implement robust, industry-standard security measures to protect the limited data we process. All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our service is designed for high school and university students. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it from our servers immediately.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top.
